A Good Sharpening System
By: Geoff on 5 May 2020Having always struggled with freehand sharpening and wanting to get consistent blade angles I picked this system after researching the various options. After some trial and error and practice I am able to consistently get razor sharp edges and have successfully reprofiled and restored some old and very blunt blades with this set up. It is ideal for small to medium length blades but fussy for large kitchen knives . It is worth watching some of the how to and tweaking videos to get the most out of this system. I changed all the wing nuts to grub screws and that makes it a lot smoother to use. You need to get the coarse and medium diamond homes if you want to do any serious reprofiling or restoration. I bought the mounting base for it but now use the system hand held and am getting better results than having it mounted to a table. The system is portable which is handy when traveling and needing to keep camping knives in good knick. As with all things sharpening people have their own ways of doing things and this may not be the preferred system for everyone. It works for me, is good quality, and is good value for money.

Good sharpener
By: Clint on 18 July 2019Delivered as promised, no hassles, the sharpener is good quality, took a new knife i made with no secondary bevel to razor sharp, only problem it took a while to achieve, not the sharpeners fault...
